Here at Hermit Thrush Hill we raise heritage breed chickens for eggs, meat,
and breeding stock and as ornamentals, as well as heritage breed ducks.
Our breeds include:
Barred Rocks - listed as Recovering by American Livestock Breeds Conservancy
Black Langshans - listed as Threatened by ALBC
Buttercups - listed as Critical by ALBC
Dark Brahmas - listed as Watch by ALBC
Dominiques - listed as Watch by ALBC
Nankin Bantams - listed as Critical by ALBC
Cayuga ducks - listed as Threatened by ALBC
Blue-Laced Red Wyandottes - a relatively new breed from England that is
really just eye-candy
and Araucanas - listed as Study by ALBC, but our stock is not considered to be
pure, so are mainly raised for the enjoyment and blue & green eggs

We have added Barnevelders!!! and Brabanters to our flock! We searched high
and low to get hatching eggs from the best flocks we could find in the U.S.
